On October 28, 1981, the USPS issued its Christmas Stamp depicting a Bear on a Sled. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Christmas Village, OR) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white with red border cachet (artwork on the envelope) features 'How Teddy Began'...from Teddy Roosevelt refusing to shoot a small bear to the creation of the popular toy, the Teddy Bear, and the establishment of the Ideal Toy Company. Historic (the 1st time a toy bear is shown on a US stamp), collectible, unaddressed, this is a great piece of Toy Bear postal memoriabilia.
Double matted in green & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
