Once in a blue moon a postal piece is created that almost takes your breath away....this is such a piece. On July 4, 1986, the USPS issued a Statue of Liberty stamp jointly with France; they are the two stamps in the middle. The French stamp bears the first day cancellation of July 4, 1986 from Paris and features the Statue of Liberty against the NY skyline. The US stamp is cancelled on the same date from Liberty Island NY/NJ and features the torch. The addition of the thirteen other stamps plus the souvenir sheet from 1956 cancelled along with the 1986 stamp make this a combo. The green 1 cent stamp was issued in 1940, the purple 3 cents stamp in 1954, the 15 cents airmail stamp in 1947.
