On February 6, 1984, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate and call attention to Soil & Water Conservation. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Denver, CO) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of the four older stamps which were added uncancelled and then cancelled along with the new stamp make this a Combo. Soil and Water Conservation has been commemorated twice before with the 4 cents stamps issued in 1959 for Soil and 1960 for Water, and the 6 cents stamps issued in 1970 in a four-stamp Anti-Pollution set.
The black and white cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a waterfall and farmland with the Soil Conservation Society of America logo.
Double matted in green & white, this item is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
