On May 20, 1995, the USPS issued a set of five stamps commemorating Recreational Sports. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, a proof card with the stamp for Softball cancelled from the city of issue (Jupiter, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features two children playing the game while the stamp depicts a woman at bat. The producer of this cover has written a short history of the game...a copy has been included for you.
