American Bald Eagle.... On January 12, 1983, the USPS issued an
Official Mail Stamp depicting the Great Seal of the United States.
Featured prominently on the Seal is the Bald Eagle. Shown here is a
genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp
cancelled from the city of issue (Washington, DC) on the
first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet
(artwork on the envelope) shows our majestic national symbol. We've
added two extra stamps, the 1987 bald eagle from a set of 50 stamps
celebrating North American Wildlife, and the 1970 Adult Eagle with
chick. Paired with this beautiful first day cover, is a full-color art
print titled 'Into the Mist' by renowned wildlife artist Terry Isaac....white tail feathers in
sharp contrast to the misty panorama of mountain and forest below.
Matted in blue,
it's sized to fit a standard 11 X 14 picture frame. ***Certificate
of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
