Fluted Giant Clam.....
On April 1, 1986, the Republic of Palau issued a set of stamps celebrating some of the exquisite seashells found in their tropical waters. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the large full-color stamp featuring the Giant Fluted Clam - a spectacular bivalve, cancelled from the city of issue, Koror, on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts a Giant Fluted Clam being harvested by a diver. Printed on silk, the colors take on a vibrancy that make the picture look almost three-dimensional.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
