Bullmouth Helmet...
On April 1, 1986, the Republic of Palau issued a set of stamps celebrating some of the exquisite seashells found in their tropical waters. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the large full-color stamp featuring the Bullmouth Helmet, cancelled from the city of issue, Koror, on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts this spectacular shell at home on the ocean floor surrounded by other shells and aquatic plants. Printed on silk, the colors take on a vibrancy that make the picture look almost three-dimensional.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
