SEINFELD 1st Day Cover SEINFELD TV Show Stamp...
On
May 2, 2000, the USPS issued a set of 15 stamps to commemorate the
decade of the 1990's. This set joined with the other 9 decades and
formed the 150 stamp set called Celebrate the Century.
After an elaborate voting process, the 15 stamps representing the
1990's were selected - one of which is shown here on this remarkable First Day Cover. The television sit-com SEINFELD became an instant hit...the show 'about nothing' gave us four main characters who never failed to make us laugh.
A First Day Cover is an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (in this case Escondido, CA) on the first day of issue,
captioned above. In short, it's the "birthday" of the stamp -
collectible, historic, a great addition to your wall. This stamp shows a
scene from Jerry's apartment.
The full-color cachet (artwork
on the envelope) takes up the entire envelope and features a group of
four people representing the memorable George, Kramer, Elaine and Jerry.
The company that produced this cover has also written a brief
commentary about Seinfeld, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
