On March 19, 1986, the USPS issued a stamp to honor Political Leader, Orator, and Lawyer William Jennings Bryan. Shown here is a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the CITY OF ISSUE and his city of birth (Salem, IL) on the FIRST DAY OF ISSUE and his birthday captioned above.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Bryan's birthplace and a portrait of Bryan at a political rally. Best known for his role as prosecuting attorney at the Scopes "Monkey Trial" in Dayton, Tennessee, Bryan defended the Creationist view.  The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary on the life of Bryan, which we've included.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.   ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY plus COMMENTARY INCLUDED***
