SAMUEL ADAMS Founding Father 1st Day Issue Postal Cover....

On December 16, 1973, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the 8-cents postage depicting a picture of Samuel Adams - Founding Father and Leader of the Boston Tea Party.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the 'stamp' cancelled from the city of issue (Boston, MA) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a drawing of Adams along with the Massachusetts State Flag. The text reads,  "Samuel Adams - Colonial Patriot and Firebrand of the American Revolution - Signer of the Declaration of Independence - Leader of the Boston Tea Party"

Double matted in black and white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
