On September 28, 1983, the United Nations issued a stamp honoring the country of Sweden, with a stamp depicting the National Flag of Sweden. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (United Nations, New York) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special cancellation designed to cancel this stamp on its 'birthday.'
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) celebrates the many facets of Sweden - from its Viking heritage to its myths and legends including mischievous trolls, to its lush forests and snow capped mountains. The company that produced this cover has also included a brief commentary about Sweden, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
