On August 25, 1955, the USPS issued a stamp to honor Educator, Lecturer, Abolitionist, and Campaigner for Woman's Rights for over 50 years....Susan B. Anthony. A woman whose name is synonymous with the 19th Amendment, Anthony died 14 years before its ratification. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Louisville, KY) on the first day of issue captioned above. Anthony's stamp was issued on the 61st Annual Convention of the Society of Philatelic Americans, which was held that year in Louisville.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Susan B. Anthony plus a short biography of this remarkable woman. This is one of several collectible, historic pieces of Woman's Rights and American History Memorabilia offered by Wall Art Collectbles.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
