Super Bowl XXXI.... On January 26, 1997, the Green Bay Packers defeated the New England Patriots with a final score of 35 to 21 in Super Bowl XXXI which was played in New Orleans. Shown here is genuine Commemorative Cover, an envelope with the cancellation 'freezing' the place and date of the event. On a commemorative cover the stamp only serves the purpose of providing current postage, for without it, the post office would not affix a cancellation. Note the special postmark showing a football player.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a player from each team. The picture is printed on silk, the luster lending an almost three-dimensional quality to the artwork. A brief commentary is also included on the envelope. Historic, collectible, and a super cachet featuring an action shot....well, it just doesn't get any better than this! Whether you're a Packers or Patriots fan, this is a must-have, extremely rare piece of Super Bowl Memorabilia.
Double matted in green and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.
