On September 19, 1970, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the Stone Mountain Memorial in Georgia. Three sculptors, 55 years, and an act of Congress helped create this tribute to Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Stone Mountain, Ga.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features both a closeup and a distance view of the Memorial. Historic, collectible, Wall Art Collectibles is proud to offer so many pieces of Civil War memorabilia.
Double matted in gray & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
