On May 22, 1987, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard commemorating the Self-Scouring Steel Plow and the man who invented it, John Deere. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover a postcard with the imprint or 'stamp' cancelled on the first day (captioned above) from the city of issue (Moline, Illinois.)

The full-color cachet (artwork) features a steel plow with a farmer and his team of mules in the background.  It's printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three dimensional quality to the artwork, surrounded by gold embossing. This invention led to the Deere & Company of Moline, a leading manufacturer of farm equipment.  Historic, collectible, this cover is a unique piece of John Deere and farming memorabilia.

Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
