On April 26, 1978, the USPS issued a set of four stamps commemorating four different American Dance genres. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover for the Folk Dance Stamp which depicts a couple Square Dancing cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features early American Folk Dancing. The picture is printed on silk surrounded by gold embossing.
