On July 15, 1976, the Soviet Union issued two stamps to commemorate the Apollo-Soyuz Space Mission, a joint US-Soviet Cooperation in Manned Space Flight. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with both stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Moscow) on the first day of issue captioned above. These are large full-color stamps, one depicting the two Russian cosmonauts and the three US astronauts; the other the Soviet rocket launching the cosmonauts into space.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope shows the link-up of both space vehicles. Note: The US also issued two stamps commemorating this event - also issued on the same date. Look for it in our Space Catagory.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
