On May 23, 1988, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Statehood of South Carolina. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, which depicts the symbol of South Carolina - the Palmetto, cancelled from the city of issue (Columbia, SC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the State Capitol at Columbia as well as the State Flag.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
