On September 12, 1970, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the Settlement of Charleston, the first permanent English settlement in South Carolina. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Charleston, SC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a scene of Charles Town in 1670.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
