On May 14, 1974, exactly a year from its launch, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating Skylab, America's First Earth-Orbiting Space Station. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Houston, TX) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Skylab as it orbits 270 miles above the Earth. Three crews and six years later, Skylab was brought back to Earth in fiery scraps over central Australia. Its long history provided mankind with important scientific information about the Earth, the Sun and life in Space.

Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
