Secretariat....

Can a horse have a stamp?  If that horse is Triple Crown Winner, Secretariat, then, Yes, Yes, Yes!  This beautiful full-color print of a painting of Secretariat is combined with a genuine First Day Cover of his stamp.

In 1999, fifteen stamps were issued by the USPS to represent the Decade of the 1970's in the 150-stamp series called "Celebrate the Century."  One of these fifteen stamps honored Secretariat, winner of the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, and The Belmont.  All fifteen stamps were cancelled on the first day of issue - November 18, 1999 - from the city of issue - New York City.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a photo of Secretariat with the following caption below  "Kentucky Derby winner Secretariat hold the lead to win the Preakness at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1973."  The company that produced this cover has also written a brief commentary about Triple Crown winner Secretariat, which we have included.

A Wall Art Collectibles exclusive, this piece is matted in green and sized to fit a standard 11x14 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
