In 1992, the company of Fleetwood produced a set of Commemorative Covers celebrating U.S. Military Aircraft. Shown here is the one for the SB2U Vindicator, the historic aircraft which led to the victory in the Battle of Midway in WWII.
On a commemorative cover, the stamp is immaterial; it's only there because the Post Office will not cancel unless there is current postage. The cancellation shows the stamp cancelled from Hartford, Ct., Januaary 40, 1992. The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a stunning picture of a Vindicator during the Battle of Midway.
Matted in blue, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. A short blurb on the Vindicator is included.
