On February 9. 2005, the USPS issued an In Memoriam stamp to honor the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan. Every President is honored with a stamp within a year of their death and usually on their birthday. Reagan is another exception. He did get his stamp within a year of his death, but his birthday was February 6th. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Simi Valley, CA.) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special first day of issue cancellation featuring Reagan's signature.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a handsome photo of Reagan printed on silk. Unaddressed, historic, collectible, this cover is a great piece of U.S. Presidential Memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included***
