River Otter.... On June 13, 1987, the USPS issued 50 stamps to celebrate American Wildlife. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover for the River Otter, described on this envelope as "The playboy of the wild..." The stamp is cancelled from the city of issue (the USPS Station at the Canadian Stamp Show in Toronto) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features this engaging web-footed mammal, who just has too much fun! This particular company paired all 50 animals with the 50 states, which is why 'Florida' appears at the bottom.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
