On June 26, 1986, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or 'stamp' commemorating the 350th Anniversary of the Settling of Rhode Island. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color 'stamp', depicting Roger Williams landing on the shores of Rhode Island, cancelled from the city of issue (Providence, RI) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) also features Roger Williams landing on shore where he would establish the town of Providence.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
