James Monroe.... On April 28, 1958, the USPS honored the 5th President of the United States, James Monroe, on the 200th Anniversary of his birth. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Montross, Va.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Monroe as well as his home Oak Hill. Unaddressed, historic, collectible, this cover is a great piece of U.S. Presidential Memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included***
