Police LAW & ORDER 1st Day Issue Postal Cover LAW AND ORDER Stamp.... On May 17, 1968, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the Police, guardians of Law & Order. Shown here is a genuine First Day Issue, an envelope with the Law and Order stamp depicting a Policeman and a young boy cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a Policeman returning a lost child, as well as a small inset showing two officers on patrol. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of Police Memorabilia.
