Pharmacy PHARMACIST Mortar-Pestle 1st Day Cover PHARMACY Stamp.... On November 10, 1972, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the profession of Pharmacy. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the 8-cents Pharmacy stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Cincinnati, Ohio) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a Mortar and Pestle
with the caption below reading, "With the issuance of the Pharmacy
Stamp the Pharmacists of United States join Doctor, Dentists, Nurses and
Hospitals as 'Partners in Health' who have been honored by postal
tributes. The Pharmacy Stamp was issued in honor of the nation's
100,000 Pharmacists and their devoted and conscientious service." As
with most of the older 'Profession' First Day Covers, this one is
becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. **CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED** |
