On January 6, 1984, the USPS issued a set of four stamps commemorating the Winter Olympic Games. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for the Pairs Figure Skating cancelled from the city of issue (Lake Placid, NY) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a couple executing a jump, combining grace with athleticism. The picture is printed on silk, the colors having a luster that makes the picture look almost 3-dimensional. Historic, collectible, this is a beautiful piece of skating memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
