Pacific Coral Reef.....
On January 2, 2004, the USPS issued a set of ten stamps commemorating the Pacific Coral Reef...from brightly colored tropical fish to exotic marine coral formations, to scary predators on patrol. Shown here is the entire Souvenir Sheet - the ten stamps surrounded by extral artwork - with all ten stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Honolulu, HI) on the first day of issue captioned above.
And what wonderful stamps they are: 1.) Emperor Angelfish, Blue Coral, Mound Coral, 2.) Humphead Wrasse, Moorish Idol, 3.) Bumphead Parrotfish, 4.) Black-spotted Puffer, Threadfin Butterfly Fish, Staghorn Coral, 5.) Hawksbill Turtle, Palette Surgeonfish, 6.) Pink Anemonefish, Magnificent Sea Anemone, 7.) Snowflake Moray Eel, Spanish Dancer, 8.) Lionfish, 9.) Triton's Trumpet, and, 10.) Oriental Sweetips, Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse, Mushroom Coral. In addition to the reef-life on the aforementioned stamps, the surrounding artwork depicts Antler Coral, a Clown Triggerfish, a Reef Blacktip Shark, a Crown-of-thorns Sea Star, a Prickly Red Sea Cucumber, an Orangeband Surgeonfish, and a Wedge Picassofish.
The entire sheet is a feast for the eye, transporting you to the wonderful, fanciful, and colorful world of the Pacific Coral Reef. We have included a copy of the back of the sheet, which, in addition to supplying interesting information about the Pacific Coral Reef, also identifies the 27 life forms.
Double matted in blue and white, we've sized it to fit a standard 11x14 frame.
