On September 20, 1996, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating the 250th Anniversary of Princeton University located in Princeton, New Jersey. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the city of issue (Princeton, NJ) the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts Alexander Hall, designed by William A. Potter in the American Romanesque style. It is also featured on the "stamp."  The picture is printed on silk, the luster making it look almost three dimensional.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***   Note:  There is also a stamp issued in 1956 commemorating the 200th anniversary Princeton.  We have it and it listed in this category.
