On June 22, 1943, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the country of Poland. In 1943 and 1944, the U.S. paid homage to thirteen countries that were overrun by Axis powers during WWII. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Chicago, IL) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts the US and Poland flags. In addition, we have added two 1966 uncancelled stamps commemorating 1000 Years of Polish Culture. This is a very collectible and historic First Day Cover. If you are of Polish heritage, this will be a treasured piece of memorabilia to be handed down through generations.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
