On September 24, 1982, the United Nations issued a stamp honoring the country of the Philippines, with a stamp depicting the National Flag of the Philippines. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (United Nations, New York) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special cancellation designed to cancel this stamp on its 'birthday.'
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) celebrates the many facets of the Philippines - from its lush jungles and exotic woods, to its bustling city of Manilla, to its primitive tribes. The company that produced this cover has also included a brief commentary about the Philippines, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
