On January 15, 1955, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadlephia - the oldest institution devoted to the arts in the United States.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Philadelphia, PA) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a drawing of the Academy with a short commentary about it.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
