Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the very first National Wildlife RefugePelican Island, located in the Indian River Lagoon on the Atlantic coast of central Florida. The beautiful full-color Pelican stamp was cancelled on the first day (March 14, 2003) from the city of issue (Sebastian, Fl.)  Note the "flying pelican cancellation."

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a standing pelican and pelicans in flight across the envelope. This is a collectible, historic piece of postal and wildlife memorabilia.

Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included plus a short history of the National Wildlife Refuge System***
