On May 24, 1985, the Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications of China issued a set of four stamps entitled "Giant Pandas." The artist Han Meilin captures the cuddliness we tend to associate with this solitary carnivore, unique to the bamboo groves of China's Sichuan basin. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all four stamps cancelled on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special postmark created for the cancellation of these stamps on their "birthday."
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts a small photo of the Giant Panda. We have copied the back of the envelope which features a short commentary about this issue.
Matted in green, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. At Wall Art Collectibles, we mat to standard sizes giving you the option of selecting the frame of your choice. ***Certificate of Authenticity and Commentary Included***
