On September 24, 1982, the United Nations issued a stamp honoring the country of Pakistan, with a stamp depicting the National Flag of Pakistan. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (United Nations, New York) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special cancellation designed to cancel this stamp on its 'birthday.'
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) celebrates the many facets of Pakistan - from the towering Himalayans, to the fertile fields of grain, and its capital city of Islamabad. The company that produced this cover has also included a brief commentary about Pakistan, which we've included.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
