Olive A. Beech, the "First Lady of Aviation", together with her husband Walter, founded the Beech Aircraft Company in 1932. After the death of her husband in 1950, Olive Beech became chief executive officer of the firm, a position she held until 1968, at which time she served as chairwoman until 1982. Shown here is a Commemorative Cover to celebrate his induction into the International Aerospace Hall of Fame on March 11, 1995.

On a commemorative cover, the stamp is immaterial; it's only there because the Post Office will not cancel unless there is current postage.  On this cover an airmail Wright Brothers stamp issued in 1978 and a 1957US Air Force stamp were used. The postmark is from Lake Arthur, Louisiana; and the date "freezes" her induction date into the Hall of Fame.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a  portrait of Olive A. Beech and a twin engine Beechcraft flying above. The producer of this cover has written a short commentary about Beech and her contribution to the aviation industry, which we, in turn, have included.

Matted in blue, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included plus Commentary Included***
