On October 10, 1958, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Overland Mail. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (San Francisco, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a stagecoach with two riders and a small inset of a stagecoach attacked by Indians. Collectible, historic, this is a great piece of postal and Western US memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
