On February 12, 1993, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Oregon Trail, leading the way to what is called the largest peacetime migration in human history. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Salem, OR) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The blue-toned cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a family heading West. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about this event, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
