On August 14, 1948, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Oregon Territory. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting John McLoughlin ("Father" of Oregon) and Jason Lee (Methodist missionary to Oregon), cancelled from the city of issue (Oregon City, OR) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a mountain view with leaping salmon.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
