On March 5, 1984, the USPS issued a set of stamps commemorating four Orchids. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all four stamps, depicting the Wild Pink, Yellow Lady's-Slipper, Spreading Pogonia, and the Pacific Calypso, cancelled from the city of issue (Miami, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features an orginal work of art of a wild orchid by artist, Gordon Beningfield, to complement the four orchid stamps. The producer of this cover has written a brief commentary about orchids as well as the artist, which we've included.
Double matted in green and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
