On March 2, 1953, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Statehood of Ohio. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Chillicothe, OH - Ohio's 1st State Capitol) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the State Capitol at Columbus, a map of Ohio, and Schoenbrunn, the first village in Ohio founded in 1772. Wall Art Collectibles is proud to offer this Fluegel Cover, the only major cachetmaker to offer colored cachets in the 1950's.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
