On March 1, 2003, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Statehood of Ohio. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Chillicothe, OH - Ohio's 1st State Capitol) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the 1st State Capitol at Chillicothe, the State Seal of Ohio, the State Flower (Carnation), and the Buckeye, from which Ohio gets its nickname. The producer of this cover has written a brief commentary about Ohio, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
