Ohio University.... On October 10, 2003, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Ohio University, the oldest institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio and the oldest in the Northwest Territory. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the city of issue (Athens, Ohio) the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts beautiful Cutler Hall, also featured on the "stamp." The photo is printed on silk, the luster lending an almost three dimensional look to the picture. It's surrounded in a solid gold metallic border.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED*** |
