Barack Obama Inaugural Cover - 1st Couple Dancing....
On January 20, 2009, Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States and Joseph Biden as the 47th Vice President of the United States. Shown here is a genuine Inaugural Cover (an envelope with the postmark 'freezing' the time (the aforementioned date) and place (Washington DC) of this historic 'change of power.') The
42 cents flag stamps on each envelope serve the purpose of supplying
current postage, for without it the post office would not cancel. The
large cancellation mark incorporates the Great Seal of the United
States, the words 'Presidential Inauguration, the date and the city...
2009 Station - Washington DC.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the the President and First Lady at one of the Inaugural Balls. The caption on this cover showing the First Couple
reads, "At the Obama Home States Ball, the President and First Lady,
Michelle, dance before contingents from Hawaii and Illinois. It was
just one of ten official inaugural balls that the Obamas would attend
that night." The cachet is printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three dimensional effect, surrounded by a gold embossed border...
adding to the value of these covers. The fact that this company used
photographs of the actual events and not drawings further contributes
to their collectibility.
Postal Stamp Art is proud to offer this collectible, historic piece of Presidential memorabilia.
Matted in blue, it will fit a standard 11x14
picture frame. Because of the collectibility and historic nature of
this covers, they will first be placed in an acid-free, crystal-clear
sleeve, which, in turn, will then be affixed to the mat, thereby
preserving its mint condition.
A piece of acid-free mat inside each envelope will keep the glue line
from bleeding through over time. If, at a future date, you prefer not
to have this item displayed on your wall, just slit open the plastic
sleeve, remove the cover and place it in an album. ***There
are four covers in this set. The other three have cachets showing the
swearing-in of the Vice President Joseph Biden, a view of the National
Mall from the Capitol at the time the oath of office was given to the
President, and Obama taking the oath of office. We have all four***
