On November 14, 1910, Curtiss Pilot Eugene Ely became the first man to fly an airplane off the deck of a ship.  When you think of the Wright Brothers accomplishing the first powered flight only seven years before, this is an amazing fete.  This full-color art print depicts this momentous event in aviation history.

We've joined this print with a genuine First Day Cover of the Naval Aviation stamp The cover or envelope shows the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (San Diego) on the first day of issue (August 20, 1961.)  This unaddressed cover is a collectible, historic piece of postal and naval aviation memorabilia. Remember that a First Day Cover cannot be duplicated.  This one was collected in 1961 when the stamp was first issued.

Matted in blue, we've sized this piece to fit a standard 11 x 14 frame.  A short history of the events leading up to Ely's historic flight is included.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
