Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting Dogwood against a black background, cancelled from the city of issue (Fayetteville, NC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the State Capitol at Raleigh with the State Flag overhead.
