On April 1, 1939, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorating the New York World's Fair held in that year. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (New York, NY) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows "The Thread of Time"...Past-Present-Future, a sundial on the exposition grounds.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
