On April 14, 1982, the USPS issued a set of 50 stamps with the State Bird and State Flower of all 50 States. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting the State Bird (Roadrunner) and State Flower (Yucca Flower) of New Mexico, cancelled from the city of issue (Santa Fe, NM) on the first day of issue captioned above. The the special cancellation combining a flower with a bird.
The full color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows a pair of Roadrunners surrounded by Yucca Flowers. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about this bird and flowering plant, which we've included.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
